In my time at the Ohio Employee Ownersip Center, I occupied a dual role, assisting, with my dual expertise in design and political science, in both the visual design of the booklet, but also the research and editing of the content. The target audience of this book would be aging business owners who are looking for guidance in next steps.  These people are experts in their field, but employee ownership is often a new topic. 
The goal of this design was to balance a sense of approachability with the clarity and professionalism required to explain a complex topic such as business succession.  By highlighting important ideas and expert advice, we allow those owners who may be more hesitant to scan quickly and open the door for further help and questions. Worksheets in the back of the booklet allow the owners to begin thinking about what the succession process would look like for them in an easily digestible format.
